These are editorial astrology interpretations. Start with the sign your calculation shows.

This chapter is associated with comfort, consistency and tangible support. Familiar routines can become more appealing. In a relationship, it can be a useful moment to talk about what makes everyday life feel secure.

03 / Staying curious

Progressed Moon in Gemini

Conversation and variety are common themes in this interpretation. You may want to ask more questions, learn something together or put a feeling into words. Curiosity can help when you are tempted to assume what someone else means.

What is my progressed Moon sign?

Your progressed Moon sign is the zodiac sign occupied by the Moon in your secondary progressed chart for a chosen date. Enter your birth date, local birth time and birthplace above, then leave the progression date blank for today or choose another date. The result shows the sign, degree and a short astrology reading.

What is a progressed Moon?

Secondary progressions use one day after birth to represent one year of life. At age 30, for example, the progressed Moon is near the Moon's position 30 days after your birth. Astrologers interpret it as a changing emotional focus. It is a symbolic astrology technique.

How do you calculate my progressed Moon?

We convert your local birth time to UTC, divide the elapsed time to the selected date by 365.2422, and add that interval to the birth instant. Astronomy Engine calculates the Moon's geocentric tropical longitude at that progressed instant. Each 30-degree segment is a zodiac sign. Progression dates are evaluated at 12:00 UTC.

How long does the progressed Moon stay in a sign?

Usually about two to two and a half years, with some variation because the Moon's speed changes. A full trip around the zodiac takes roughly 27 to 28 years. We calculate the next sign crossing from lunar positions instead of adding a fixed number of months.

Can I find my progressed Moon without a birth time?

Choose Unknown time and we check the full local birth day. The Moon can move roughly 12 to 15 degrees during that day, so your result may include two signs. An unknown birth time can shift the estimated next sign change by about a year. We show a range and omit timing when the current sign is uncertain.

Is my progressed Moon the same as my natal Moon sign?

Your natal Moon is the Moon's position at birth and stays fixed in your natal chart. Your progressed Moon uses a later ephemeris date and changes as you age. This tool shows both so you can compare them. A transit uses the Moon's position in the actual sky on the selected date.

Does this calculate progressed Moon houses or phases?

This calculator shows the progressed Moon's sign, degree and next sign change, alongside your natal Moon sign. It does not calculate houses, aspects or the progressed lunar phase. A phase calculation also needs the progressed Sun; house calculations need a stated house system and accurate birth time.

Why might another progressed Moon calculator show a different result?

Check the birth time, historical time zone, progression date and tropical or sidereal zodiac setting. Year-length conventions and ephemeris models can also differ slightly. We use 365.2422 days per year and a 0.02-degree lunar calculation tolerance, and show both signs when that tolerance or the birth-time window reaches a boundary.
